Northstar Advisory
Let your team ask SOP questions in Slack and see the source of every answer.
The agent answers from approved Notion and Drive documents, respects channel access, and hands uncertain questions to a person.

How it works
The new workflow, step by step
See what moves between tools, what stays private, and what happens when something fails.
- 01
Approved documents
The agent searches only approved Notion pages and Drive files. Each source has an owner, audience, and update date.
- Notion
- Google Drive
- 02
Access check
The Slack user and channel decide whether the agent may search internal, team, or client-safe documents.
- Slack
- 03
Answer with sources
The agent gives a short answer, links the exact passages it used, and shows when each source was updated.
- ChatGPT
- 04
Ask a person
If the answer is unclear, conflicting, or restricted, the agent sends the question to the right document owner.

- Notion
What was going wrong
The tools worked. The process between them did not.
The answer was usually already in Notion or Google Drive, but people still interrupted senior staff to find it. A basic chatbot was too risky because policies changed and client channels could not see internal documents.
Staff searched several folders, then asked a manager when two documents disagreed.
Client questions were copied into private Slack channels and answered later.
Answers did not show which document or policy version they came from.
A typical request
What happens from start to finish.
- 01
Consultant
Asks in Slack how a client handover should be documented.
The agent searches internal documents and answers with links to the two passages it used.
- 02
Client
Asks in a shared channel when a monthly report is considered final.
The agent searches only client-safe documents and leaves out internal review instructions.
- 03
Agent
Finds two current pages with conflicting approval rules.
It explains the conflict, does not guess, and asks the policy owner to answer.
Rules and safeguards
Rules your team no longer has to remember.
- The agent cannot use a document the person or channel is not allowed to see.
- Every useful answer includes source links and update dates.
- If the agent is not confident, it says so and asks a person instead of guessing.
- Feedback points to the exact source so its owner can fix outdated guidance.
What gets easier
- 1
People get routine answers without leaving Slack.
- 2
They can check the source before acting, and clients see only approved material.
- 3
Conflicting policies go to the right owner instead of producing a confident guess.
